CHICAGO, June 1, 2016 — David J. Rashid of the Chicago-based personal injury law firm of Burke Wise Morrissey Kaveny has been named to the list of the up-and-coming Illinois lawyers who best exhibit “exceptional character” and “outstanding aptitude,” as determined by the state’s top private practitioners.

In creating its list of Emerging Lawyers, Law Bulletin Publishing Company, through its Leading Lawyers division, asked its highly selective group of the state’s top attorneys to recommend the people who most likely will lead the profession in the coming years.

Emerging Lawyers are age 40 or younger unless they have been licensed to practice for no more than a decade. Emerging Lawyers account for less than 2 percent of Illinois registered attorneys, and they are identified in surveys by those who have been selected as Leading Lawyers.

“David has distinguished himself quickly in general personal injury law and professional malpractice law at the highly regarded firm of Burke Wise Morrissey Kaveny, where he has gained unparalleled opportunities” said Scott Anderson, the director and publisher of Leading Lawyers. “Perhaps more importantly, he has also earned the respect of many of the state’s most experienced and respected senior lawyers in his areas of practice.”

The Leading Lawyers who recommend their Emerging Lawyers peers are themselves selected as the best of the best by extensive statewide surveys sent to every lawyer appearing in Sullivan’s Law Directory®. That survey asks: “If you couldn’t take a case in your area of law, to whom would you refer a family member or friend?”

These lawyers cannot nominate themselves or any lawyers at their own firm, and their results are reviewed by the Leading Lawyers Advisory Board, which eliminates the possibility of lawyers being selected through a popularity contest.
